The important role played by the National Circus School in its sector was been confirmed by the awarding of a grant in the amount of $1 million over five years. The funds will go towards promoting the practice of recreational circus arts with young people and advancing the offer of preparatory circus arts training in Quebec. The contribution was announced by Ms. Marie Montpetit, the minister of Culture and Communications and minister responsible for the Protection and Promotion of the French Language, at a press conference held yesterday morning in the new Creation and Production Center of The 7 Fingers circus company, located in the heart of the Quartier des Spectacles on St. Laurent Boulevard.

This new financial injection will support National Circus School with the transfer of expertise in pedagogy, risk management and teacher training. By extension, it also will benefit the entire recreational and preparatory circus sector.
