The Circus Must Go On!
The National Circus School is proud to present the video series "The Circus Must Go On!". In five episodes, this documentary series looks at the impact that the COVID-19 pandemic had on our students' creation projects, as well as the measures put in place by the School to counter these limitations and overcome the challenge.
Episode 1 : Acrobatics in a Pandemic
Under normal circumstances, the students of the School end their school year by presenting in front of an audience pieces and performances demonstrating their skills and creativity. For the graduating students, it represents the ultimate challenge of their training at the School, presenting in front of more than 17,000 people. Confined overnight, the School and its students had to turn around and adapt to the new reality brought about by the pandemic. Creative projects have been set up to enable students to complete their school year and adjust their abilities in this unprecedented context, to say the least.
Episode 2 : Confined Creations and Lack of Inspiration
Finding inspiration in confinement is not easy.Students conduct several creative projects at a distance, guided by creators who have been given the mission to keep them creative, and to find new ways of expression during these troubled times.
Episode 3 : Finding Harmony While Distancing
Creativity expresses itself in a thousand different ways... even in confinement! Creators and students take up the challenges of the events, together, but using very different methods.
Episode 4 : Jump-Start and Move On to the Future
Although performance is at the heart of circus arts, many other aspects are essential for a project to see the day. In this 4th episode of the series "The Circus Must Go On! ", graduates and artists learn new skills to innovate or start their own company.
By participating in the entrepreneurship and innovation lab set up by the School's research center (CRITAC), they will be better suited to contribute to the development of the circus and cultural industry in a new global reality.

The artistic field is gradually reinventing itself from the challenges of the pandemic, and the graduating students are returning to the School in a very different context than the one in which they left it. Having successfully conquered the many challenges they faced during this event, these artists are entering the School as students for the last time, only to leave as graduates in this final episode of “The Circus Must Go On!”.
