Raised in Maine, USA, Sarah began circus at the age of six, discovering the playful and challenging aspects of this art form. Over the years, she has specialized in aerial hoop, but also has a great love for clowning and antipodism, as well as doing research in the performing arts and dramaturgy. Prior to her training at ENC, Sarah graduated from Wesleyan University, where she studied the various intersections between science, art, ethics and the environment. She used this training to conduct research into artistic innovation in the circus arts. Her artistic approach reflects her diverse background: her creations are rooted in the body, fuelled by theory and guided by her values. She is currently interested in discomfort, the materiality of the body and the deconstruction of the self on stage.
