The NCS Research Ethics Board (REB) is constituted in accordance with the most recent version of the Tri-Council Policy Statement: Ethical Conduct for Research Involving Humans and the Institutional Policy on the Ethics of Research Involving Humans.

Mandate

The mandate of the NCS REB is to ensure that the dignity of individuals who participate in research activities conducted under the authority or auspices of the NCS is respected. To do this, the Board of Directors of the latter has entrusted the REB with the responsibility of evaluating the projects in question in accordance with the ethical requirements in force as well as applicable laws.

Submitting your project to the REB

Form to fill out (in French)

  • Ethics Review Request Form : This document must be filed according to the submission dates indicated in the calendar above and completed according to the conditions set out in the form for each application for ethics review.
  • Tracking Form : This document applies to research activities that have already received ethics approval. It includes requests for amendments, the report of unexpected events, the periodic report requested by the REB and the report on the end of a research activity.

  • Free and Informed Consent Form (general) : This document can be used as a template for the preparation of any information and consent form. It takes into account all ethical requirements. We encourage you to use it as the REB will use it as its review template.
  • Free and Informed Consent Form (survey) : This document can be used as a template for the preparation of an information and consent form to be used for a survey conducted through a digital platform. It takes into account all ethical requirements. We encourage you to use it as the REB will use it as its review template.
