Biography
My name is Téa Tkach, I am a circus artist born in Maple Ridge, British Columbia, Canada. I specialize in horizontal aerial hoop, aerial hoop and aerial silks.
I come from a family of four, my parents are happily married and own a fitness club in Campbell River, BC. I credit them for a large portion of my muscular training knowledge as they owned gyms and have been in the fitness industry since before I was born.
I have an older sister, who I am incredibly close with, we were each other’s biggest supports for improvement in our respective disciplines as we pushed and corrected each other to be the best we could be.
At the age of eleven, I discovered circus arts for the first time. Silks, dance trapeze and aerial hoop drew my attention from the start and I took a special interest in aerial silks over the first couple of years. Moving to Vancouver Island, I dove into self-training, dance, competitive gymnastics, and finally back to aerials again. Cross-training with the end goal of getting back to circus helped me stay passionate and involved even when I was geographically located away from the training spaces I longed to be at.
When I moved away from home to attend the Artist Preparatory Program at The Circus Lab, I auditioned and got accepted to Ecole National du Cirque where I for four years 2021 – 2025. My coach and I developed my specialty discipline, horizontal aerial hoop in DEC 1, and in DEC 2 I returned to my roots with aerial silks as my minor discipline.
I graduated from college at ENC in June of 2025.
