ABOUT THE SHOW

Students in the secondary-level Cirque-Études program will present Vertige, a show co-created by the group and guided by the expertise and professionalism of a circus director from the field.

Vertige evokes a thrilling suspension over the void, a vulnerable leap into the unknown, and the bold risk of taking artistic flight. This educational project, centred on collective creation, offers emerging circus artists a concrete opportunity to develop their stage presence and their connection with the audience. Through original circus tableaux, the students explore performing before a live audience while demonstrating mastery of their discipline.

SYNOPSIS

Who am I to you? And who are you to me? Before us, both distant and close, lies your reflection. What can you do for me, and what can I do for you? Perhaps your façade mirrors that of a mirage, something in the distance that seems too perfect to be real. Thoughts have passed through me, making me realize that it is time to separate from my shadow. We find in you the answers to our questions, but perhaps they lie within ourselves. An isolated group can provoke hysteria among its peers and shake everything that holds it together. But what would happen if the mirror were to shatter, allowing us to see one another like fragments of glass…
