The Research Ethics Board (REB) of the National Circus School is seeking to fill the following three positions:

  • A regular member with expertise in qualitative and/or quantitative research;
  • An alternate member with sufficient knowledge of ethics;
  • An alternate member with solid knowledge of applicable laws.*

*These candidates must not hold any employment relationship with the National Circus School.

What is the National Circus School (NCS)?
Located in Montréal, the NCS is a private secondary and post-secondary institution that offers programs to train artists in various circus disciplines. Internationally recognized, the NCS also fosters the development of diverse research projects through its Human Performance Research Hub (HUPR), in collaboration with an extensive network of partners.

What is the role of the NCS REB?
The REB is mandated to evaluate and approve all research projects involving human participants conducted under the auspices of the NCS. As a multidisciplinary and independent body, it ensures compliance with current ethical standards, such as the Tri-Council Policy Statement: Ethical Conduct for Research Involving Humans (TCPS 2).

What does this commitment involve for you?

  • Participating in one virtual meeting per month (approximately 2 hours);
  • Reviewing and analyzing documents related to research projects under evaluation;
  • Sharing your perspective during meetings;
  • Serving on a volunteer basis.
