Teacher - English, Philosophy
Vaji Dorostkar joined the National Circus School in 2012. She holds a Master’s degree in English Studies from the Université de Montréal (2012), with a concentration in literature and philosophy, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in English Language and Translation completed in Iran.
Since her arrival, Vaji has adapted her teaching methods to meet the specific needs of circus arts students. She offers a unique pedagogical approach that combines academic rigour with circus sensitivity—an approach her students greatly value and benefit from.
Vaji also teaches philosophy in both English and French, covering a wide range of topics from Greek philosophy to postmodern thought. She favours a method based on dialogue and debate, encouraging students to integrate their circus creativity into their philosophical presentations.
