The National Circus School of Montreal is proud to highlight the outstanding performances of its graduates and alumni at the 45th Festival Mondial du Cirque de Demain, held in Paris last weekend. A true international showcase for emerging circus artists, the festival once again brought forward the boldness, technical rigour, and artistic excellence of our artists, who stood out through the quality of their acts and the strength of their stage presence.
An Award for the Opening Act Performed by Our Students
A highlight of this 45th edition, the opening act, directed by Howard Richard in collaboration with Nathalie Hébert and performed by 10 NCS Montréal students, was also honoured with the Prix de l’École nationale de cirque de Rosny-sous-Bois.
Grand Prix and Prestigious Awards for Machine de Cirque
Machine de Cirque (Canada), composed of five NCS Montréal alumni, Maxime Laurin, Raphaël Dubé, Guillaume Larouche, Calle Lowenborg, and Benjamin Wolgers, received the festival’s highest honours with a spectacular Korean plank / rotating Korean plank act.

Silver Medal and Multiple Awards for Trio Rig’Humain
Trio Rig’Humain (Canada / France / USA), bringing together three NCS alumni—Yves Artières, Ilse Baryshnikov, and Téa Tkach—captivated both audiences and jury members with a distinctive act combining aerial hoops, straps, and hair suspension.

NCS Montréal alumnus Vitor Martinez Silva (Brazil) impressed with a diabolo act praised for its precision and originality.

Justin Lowack (Germany), an NCS Montréal alumnus, was recognized for his tightwire act, showcasing remarkable technical accuracy and a strong artistic signature.

NCS Montréal alumna Eline Guélat (Switzerland) left a strong impression with a powerful and refined Chinese pole act.
