This fall, we’re inviting young people aged 9 to 17 to take part in our preselection in St. John’s, Newfoundland.

During this day, members of the NCS teaching staff will evaluate the overall potential of young people wishing to train at the NCS to become circus artists. This will be an opportunity to test their physical and artistic skills: spatial orientation, coordination, flexibility, strength, stage presence, dramaturgy, fluidity of movement and rhythmic ability.

No specialization in a circus discipline or presentation of an individual act is required.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend intensive summer camps or auditions, to be held in February. Please note, however, that attendance at the preselection day is not a prerequisite for camps or auditions.

Participation criteria

  • Be between 9 and 17 years of age
  • Canadian citizen or permanent resident
  • Ability in dance, gymnastics, acrobatic sports or any other relevant discipline.
