The School greeted with enthusiasm news that the Ministère de la Culture et des Communications has awarded it $1 million over five years to fund new educational and social action initiatives in the field of circus arts.
This support will contribute to the development of recreational circus activities aimed at young people and to advancing the range of preparatory circus arts training offered in Quebec.
These new resources conferred upon the National Circus School will benefit the entire recreational and preparatory circus sector, and contribute to the transfer of expertise in pedagogy, risk management and teacher training.
“This announcement confirms the preeminent role our institution has played in educating circus arts teachers and artists for more than 35 years and recognizes the expertise we have developed in pedagogy.” says Sébastien Guénette, chairman of the National Circus School’s board of directors. Éric Langlois, executive director of the School, adds: “Building on our strengths, we are in an excellent position to ensure the transfer of expertise with which the Quebec Ministère de la Culture et des Communications has entrusted us.”
